Mental health is one of the most important foundations for a healthy and long life. We want to build a society with good mental health where everybody can thrive.
Our work involves:
- Researching, developing and advocating for new and more effective ways to support and protect good mental health
- Running national campaigns and providing everyone with evidence-backed advice and resources
- Partnering with organisations across the UK and taking the valuable lessons we’ve learned and sharing solutions that are proven to work

Programmes
We partner with organisations to develop new and more effective ways to support and protect good mental health in communities across the UK.

Research
Our research takes the valuable lessons we’ve learned and shares solutions that are proven to help nurture good mental health.

Policy and advocacy
Our advocacy works to ensure that no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live.

Public engagement
We run national campaigns, like Mental Health Awareness Week, and working with local communities to provide everyone with evidence-backed advice and resources to support their mental health.
What prevention means and how it can help
There are lots of things that influence our mental health, such as our history and social circumstances.
While it isn’t possible to stop all mental ill-health from developing, many mental health problems can be prevented with the right approach.
